The role
The Quality and Operations Manager leads a coordinated approach to managing quality, systems, and operations across the organisation, as well as managing daily operations at WAGEC’s Head Office in Redfern. The role reports to the Director of Quality and Impact and leads a small and dynamic team to deliver on a range of business and strategic priorities.
The Quality and Operations Manager is responsible for continuous improvement and ASES accreditation functions, policy and procedure development, on-going CARE model implementation within Client Services and Programs, facilities management, and operations for WAGEC’s 7 sites, including our 4 Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) refuges. The role is critical to ensure operations enable front line service delivery.
The Quality and Operations Manager uses strong project management and problem-solving skills, working across the wider organisation to communicate, train staff and operationalise WHS, maintenance and logistical support functions. The role works collaboratively to deliver projects that improve systems and processes for the organisation.
While WAGEC has a flexible work policy, the operational and safety requirements mean this role is primarily on-site at our Redfern office, with some travel across all WAGEC services and offices.

About you
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Manager, leading multi-disciplinary teams or projects.
- Solid experience working directly with people in human services or customer service capacity
- Demonstrated experience in managing business and finance operations
- Thorough understanding of project and change management methodologies, and experience leading best practice change management
- Demonstrated experience managing safety, quality, or regulatory programs, such as accreditation, best practice models of social services, or work health and safety compliance.
- Experience leading and/or contributing to strategic and operational planning and implementation.
